(Spoiler!) I Think They Are Going To Make (Spoiler!)

Not two, but THREE seasons. Why?

- OUTATIME ending is like the first movie (well, sort of)
- Like the first movie, the past is the main set (1955/1931)
- The second season obviously will be in the future (mainly)
- Third season. Wild west.
- BTTF: The Game Trilogy

Just guessing. :D

  • The first season did have quite a few similaritites to the first film;
    -arthur getting bullied the same way george did
    -an even younger version of Doc
    -mostly in the past
    -most of the game is without present doc's help. He was mostly an observer for the first 2 episodes, gone completely from 3 and 4 and half of 5. Though I guess this happens in parts of every film.
    -of course the ending

    but it also burrowed events from the second film;
    -episode 2 was similar to the 3rd act of part II; we were in a spot marty's already been, avoiding the other self paradox, having to save his ancestor from getting killed, essentially seeing the same events unfold again
    -episode 3 was similar to the second act of part II: Marty having to explore an alternate hill valley
    -episode 5 the delorean gets stolen by the villain and ruins the future.

    Alternate presents have been done to death; we've seen 5 different versions of 1985/86 (3 in the films, 2 in the game). Alternate futures are open ended though

    So what do they have left where they can explore now that Doc's pretty much been fleshed out from adolescence to senior years?
    -they could do circa 1855 with beauregard tannen and seamus father. remember they can't go further back without leaving hill valley as Seamus was not born in america.
    -William was actually a really cool character from what we saw so they could show a younger version of him especially since there's now a missing Tannen being Bufords son/kids father
    -obviously the future is open ended, Marty says his great great grandchildren are in trouble (probably implying circa 2080's) but it could stem from previous generations.

    Doesn't seem there's enough there for a third season. Especially since the third film is the weakest so doubt they'd repeat that premise. Doc already has his happy ending and the future will likely show marty's fate.

    There's just one thing you're both overlooking that keeps it from being like the first film, the
    "To be continued..."
    was not present in theaters and was only added to home releases once they realized that a sequel was indeed to be made. Zemeckis himself even said that he never would have chosen the last bit of the movie had he actually planned on making a sequel.

    I've always thought the second film was the weakest. A first Act that only serviced to connect the ending of the previous film to the intention of the rest of the film. But that's just me.

    A three season setup would be interesting, a game trilogy. As long as we don't spend the majority of the second season dodging Marty from the first lol. I'd love to see the ending of Part II in game form however, "There's only one man that can help me!"

    I'd like to spend some of the game dodging myself as long as you could cause a paradox if you mess up.

    For starters I'd love to see Eastwood 2015 (or rather 2016; and I suppose we don't strictly end up with the Eastwood timeline, but with an entirely new timeline; still, Marty's fate shouldn't have been affected much by the 1931 time travels)...I'd love to see Marty's more successful future, and the new versions of Marty Jr and Marlene. I get the feeling Eastwood 2016 will be for Marty and Jennifer what Lone Pine 1985 was for George and Lorraine, a much better, happier and improved future.

    After that...well I suppose the past will have to be explored at some point. You know, I wish they revisit the plot of the original BTTF2 draft script, and have an episode or 2 set in the 1960's...with Lorraine as a flower girl and stuff like that. That would give us another 'younger Doc'...the younger Docs have always been integral parts of the trilogy.
