GREAT SCOTT! I'm definetaley going to get me a pair..if this is true.
  • edited September 2011
No doubt that they're making them. I just wonder if they've really successfully implemented the power laces, or if they've just made some shoes that look like the ones from the movie.

Meanwhile, I don't even own any pairs of shoes with any kind of shoelaces, thanks to the improvements in "a little elastic bit on each side" technology over the past few years.

Apperantly it's going to be revealed today...and if so...I think I'm going to march my ass down to the Local Nike store and be like... a pair please.

    "Power laces! All right!"

Seriously, I doubt these things will work right this first batch if they are indeed power laces and not just regular shoes that happen to look like the BttF shoes.

And as much as I'd love a pair, they're probably going to be prohibitively expensive and won't come in my size anyways. Or they'll come in my size but be extremely uncomfortable.

I so want one of those, hopefully, they sell them in the UK, if not, ill have to find a way to import them in UK size 7 or 6....if its expensive ill put on my xmas wish list or bday :P

I knew it was too good to be true. No power laces :(

Nike will release 1,500 pairs of the 2011 Nike Mag sneaker for auction on eBay and donate all proceeds to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's disease research.

Ohhhh... that's going to be expensive... but at least its for a good cause.

Also Consider that Nike patented the Mag's automatic lacing system in 2010, so you never know for sure we'll have wait and see about auto lacing.

Either way... you probably wouldn't actually want to wear them... its something you would want to keep nice.

This makes me want to bid on them, even though they don't power lace and the bids are ridiculously expensive :(

These are awesome but nike are very greedy people and its been proven that the people who make them in abroad get horrid wages (80p a day) and whipped, im not making this up

yet again i think these are fantastic and the money is going to a good cause, this will also make more fans which is good.

    I'm just adding to this.

Some people have claimed that in the Nike FAQ, they imply that the shoes will be produced in greater quantities in 2015 ("Wait until 2015...").

Personally, I haven't seen the source but I wouldn't be surprised if it followed through; I can't see the 2015 shoes being an exact replica of the ones now though but the power lace feature could definitely be present. I guess we'll just have to wait until 2015 and see for ourselves.

I can't believe that there are dislikes on that video. Must be Rush Limbaugh and his few remaining fans.

Considering that each pair right now is sitting well over $2,000, I think the MJF Foundation is definitely going to be doing well. I wish I had that kind of money...:(

They have pretty much announced they are making power lace versions for 2015 if people dont believe me look on the ebay page at the faqs (for the nike mags)
  • edited September 2011
But will we also get the matching jacket, the hoverboard, and Jaws 19? (Great Scott! Between now and 2015, we're due more than a dozen installments!)
  • edited September 2011
the first auction is at $8,200 I would imagine that as more and more go on EBAY it will get cheaper.. but dang... that is probably worth more than my car.

    You mean from this:

Q: DO THE 2011 NIKE MAG SHOES POWER-LACE?
No. For the power-lace feature you will have to wait until 2015.

I think that might just be a joke, don't you think?

I just figured out on the website you can enter in a date in time on the top and a little video plays of time travel. Cool little easter egg!

Its So Cool that Nike is releasing this shoe and i know alot of BTTF fans would love a pair but it kinda bites that we can only get them through Ebay but its for a good cause but trying to get them cheap aint gonna be easy i checked for a pair in my size it started at a buck then two secs later it was up to $1800 might get lucky bout halfway through but it may not be good to wait so long or you may miss out i just wish that Nike was selling them at retail stores maybe if they sell well Nike will distribute a set to the public ah a man can dream :)
