OT: Fantasy Wizards: Wands or Staffs

Which do you prefer a Wizard use as his tool: A wand, ala KQ and Harry Potter, or a staff ala LOTR? To me a staff speaks more of a more powerful wizard. It seems found in more mature works. For example, in KQ8, the Wizard you encounter has and uses a Staff.

    Crispen seems to use both.

    I don't know about you guys, but my wand became a staff right about the time I hit age 13.

    That's because he's slow as crap to walk across the room.

    He needs a magic walker.

    Hey! VGA animations were NEW and EXPENSIVE in 1991! The designers wanted players to see Crispin's sprite in all its old-guy-in-a-bland-black-cloak glory -- as he ever ... so ... slowly ... shuffles ... across ... the ... screen. :D

    Lambo probably suffers from a staff infection.

    Definitely staff. A wand is for sissies. Even Manannan stopped using it!

    Not me! I always use a sheath on my staff!

    Mordack is said to be the more powerful wizard in his family... He still uses his magic wand, but is capable of casting powerful spells without it!

    Powerful wizards need neither a wand or a staff! They just use their hands! The wand or staff are just extra 'perks'.

    I regularly use my hands to perk my staff.

    Seriously, next Lambonius is going to be quoting the bible;
    Lambonius SPEAKS: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil...your rod and your staff, they comfort me."-Psalm 23:4
    ...raised his arm and struck the rock twice with his staff. Water gushed out, and the community and their livestock drank.-Numbers 20:11
    They threw down their staffs, which also became serpents! But then Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs.-Exodus 7:12

    Ok, enough blasphemy for this evening...
