Ninja Dave's map not working for me on the iPad

Hopefully, I'm just doing something wrong, but I've made the fake Ninja Dave and now I'm trying to find the hole to put him in. I'm using the animal sounds and have verified with cheats that I'm going the correct route (r, r, u, d, d, u, l) and I always end up back with D'oro playing with his dolls (I mean porcelain power figures).

I can't continue and my son and I are really bummed.

Any help?

    shake the map at the well?

    Before you start, you need to do, as BlackBladeX says, shake the map at the well.

    There's also a bit where you need to walk around the "calendar", and if you don't do it quite right, then the stage doesn't continue. You'll know you're doing the right thing because there is a sound/visual effect after each correct choice.
