Thief at the Post Office

My Sam and Max bonus disk *package* arrived today empty with the top torn open and "received without contents" stamped all over. What should I do to get a replacement?

I am not sure what it's like there, but here you have to contact the post office right away, and fill out a form to make sure the insurance covers your losses. I'm not going to answer for TTG, but I would recommend you to contact your post office and tell exactly what happens as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the less chance there is for the insurance, which the postal system has, covers your losses.

Please do as Marsan suggested and submit a claim with the post office. We'll make sure you get a replacement but I want to make sure that base is covered.

They said that they would check to see if the package came open in the sorting machines and the disk ended up in the lost and found. I'm not holding my breath.

I'm going to try to get a replacement out to you tomorrow before I leave for Comic-Con.

    Thank you very much.

It just proves how popular Sam & Max is. It sorta reminds me of the cases in the 80s where people broke into cars to steal the little suction-cup Garfields...

Sorry you lost your CD, CrazyC, and good luck with the next one!

They were surely stealing the Garfields to affix Max heads.

quite definitely jake i mean who prefers garfield to max

Maybe it's that copy on ebay?

I can't see the person who stole it knowing what was in it and what are the odds that the thief happens to be a Sam & Max fan.
So he'd probably resell it somewhere.

Nah, I think that eBay auction is probably someone who took advantage of the free disc offer and is now reselling his disc. I didn't anticipate people doing that, but I guess it makes sense... everyone's out to make a buck. :p

crazyc, did you get your replacement yet? I mailed it last Wednesday.

This is some scary stuff. If I might ask, would it be possible to change an unshipped order from economy postage to UPS? I was trying to save a few bucks, but now I don't mind paying a little bit more. I ordered the bonus disc, soundtrack, and case file, so it's still in limbo, anyway.

Nope, if you want to change the shipping method you need to get the order canceled and place a new one.

In the year that I've been handling customer service for Telltale, this is the first time I've ever heard about something like this happening. I'm sure it's not going to be a widespread problem.

Yup, thanks. The post office never got back to me about the missing one.
