I need to know how to "shoot"

Playing on my iPad and I can't figure out how to make Lee shoot the gun, so I'm pretty much dead right at the beginning. How do I make him shoot the zombie?

    Did you try tapping the icon on the head of the police officer? Lee automatically shoots the gun.

    Yeah, he just keeps saying "what happened?" until the zombie gets him. The option is the bottom left is only LOOK AT COP.

    Did you take the bullet from the ground? If so, You have to sweep until you find the shotgun. Then, aim at the white circle on the zombie cop and select the gun below the eye icon. You have to pick the shotgun first before aiming at the cop.
