TWD: Walking Dead Season 1 PC cant pause or log off without the game restarting

every time I get off of the walking dead season one the game restarts from the beginning. I got half the way through the drug store twice and every time I have to pause or get off it restarts from the begining. It has a save file with the right date and time but when it loads its from the begining. I have looked for the same prob and can't find a solution anywhere please help!!

your not hitting the rewind or new game button are you? instead of the Continue button in the bottom right are you?
