PS3- Saves Still Missing after Patch

Telltale,

I have to say I was in love with your game series and had nothing but raving reviews of The Walking Dead up until yesterday. Like many people have reported, my save became corrupted and I lost everything. I had my playthrough on Slot 1 and my cousin was playing slot 3. We both invested hours upon hours into your game when suddenly as he was playing episode 4, the save crashed and we received the "save is corrupted" message. Sure enough, we had to hard exit and when returned all of our saves were completely deleted.

This morning, I saw that you posted with a patch and following the instructions, I went back into the game. Lo and behold, as soon as I entered the game, all of my saves are still deleted as if I had never played the game before.

I am appalled at the lack of communication with the issue. I understand that there must be many people emailing support, but to get no response at all or acknowledgment that I have an issue is a real travesty. My ticket was 64272 and still haven't heard anything. Will someone please directly answer my plea on these forums?!

Am I just completely out of luck and is my data just completely gone? If no one is going to respond to this (telltale) then know that you have lost a faithful customer in me and I am disappointed that A) you released such a huge and crippling bug and B) there is nothing you can do for the people who lost their saves. Again, I loved your series, but after this, I highly doubt I will ever go back to purchasing a Telltale product ever again. I know that it won't matter since I am merely ONE customer and I'm sure you'll still have many other customers who will still buy, but I hope others see this and see your lack of response as being proof in the pudding that individual customers aren't high on your priority list.

Telltale, it would be nice to just get a straight answer. "Yes your saves are gone" or "No, here's what you need to do." I'm even more appalled that whoever is handling your twitter account deleted the tweet I posted imploring an answer.

    Nothing huh?

I would like to know that too. Is it possible to get back our original saves somehow or are they lost forever?

It is nice to have a patch which hopefully prevents save corruptions in the future but next time, do your homework Telltale and engage some real paid Beta Testers, before you release Episode 5, as this bug seems to be no single case and you just were lucky if you didn't loose all your saves.

I hope for an answer soon.

Unfortunately any saves that were lost are not recoverable. If you have saves on the cloud or if you exited to the XMB when the corruption message first appeared, you can still access your save games. Once the corruption message was confirmed, all saves were removed from the hard drive. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this causes you.

Try to make a little more efforts for your customers.
It's easy to fix the issue, just ask for previous choices before an episode (like Bioware made for Mass Effect for exemple).
Or/and you could add an option to skip cinematics....

That's what I suggested to the support before, in case our lost saves are not available any more. I'm not sure if you can ask for every little possible decision you made before to recreate with a set of questions. But you could at least insert an option right before you start Episode 4 what major decisions you made in EP 1-3 (like "Help kill Larry", "Stole Food from Car",....)

I really enjoyed your game so far until now. Bought the Season Pass straight after playing the demo to support you guys. Great Storytelling, that is the heart core of this franchise, but I refuse to spend hours again with decisions I already made, again and again just to see minor differences for the story.

I heard that every patch does generate license costs the publisher has to pay to Sony, but you would dissapoint a lot fans and customers if you didn't offer this service.

    Hi,
I agree definitively. This would be a reaaaaalllllllyyyy good solution.
It is a really good proposal, congratulation. But, sorry, I'm not a TellTale's team...
I hope it could be done, but I doubt it would be done before the end of the season.
    (too pessimistic ?)

The v1.03 patch is currently with Sony Europe's QA team. Once approved, you will be automatically prompted to install this patch when you start the game.

This would have been great for people to know BEFORE they downloaded episode 4, played it and lost their saves. TTG knew about the issue, but still not warned their european customers.

That is really a bad joke TT, for the european users. You could at least put a warning sticky thread on top of your site to avoid more corrupted saves and hate mails until the patch is released. This is like programmed mad customers on your way.

Also, MattP could you tell me if this solution with "User created decions" I posted earlier is even considered with the release of Episode 5 ?

I think it would make a lot of people happy and show that you care for your fans.

Unfortunately we are not currently planning to add user created decisions to the Walking Dead.

Regarding the v1.03 patch, it is now live in Europe. Please exit to the XMB and restart your game and you will be prompted to install it.

Then give me my money back and keep Episode 5 to yourselves cause I'm not interested in random choices.

What a great idea though "Oh, hey, this game is corrupted, let's delete ALL saves then!". And this was post-patch, bloody brilliant.
