Mac Save Corrupted with Episode 4

I played through episode 4 all day today and was thoroughly enjoying it. I then hit a load screen and the game got stuck till it completely crashed. I rebooted the computer and logged on to find all my saved games missing!

I see this issue seems to be happening to quite a few people on here, and I just want to say that as a Mac user I've had it too. Is this going to be addressed??

I don't know much about Macs, but if you have any backups, e.g. Time Machine, you can try restoring the folder
    ~/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/TheWalkingDead/
    to get your savegames back.

Thanks, I found the folder and can see all the saves all the way up to the last one I did... but if they are truly corrupted I don't have a backup thats anywhere near as updated as all the progress I spent making throughout the day. Is there anyone that knows how to fix existing saves?

The thing with crashes is, that they can corrupt the prefs.prop in the savegame folder. The prefs.prop contains some information that is required to recognize the savegames.
Up to now there is no quick and easy fix that i know of for recovering savefiles in that situation.

I don't have first hand experience with this, but if you are tech savvy you can try fooling the game by exchanging a newly created savegame file with the newest one of your old ones. As far as i have read the file date of the old file hast to be set to the same as the new file's. I also think that the new save needs to be from the same episode as the old one.

The first instance of that procedure i have seen was this one for pc.
There are some instructions for Mac here too. Be aware that these instructions were written for the first episode, so you have to adapt them in your mind.

Be sure to make a backup copy of your savegame folder before you try anything.

If that's beyond what you are willing to try, you can still sacrifice today's progress and at least save what you did in the earlier episodes by restoring the folder.

Thanks! I'll look into that but Telltale ought to come up with a fix to this soon, as this is a pretty glaring issue

I tried and adapted the Mac instructions as necessary and I'm happy to say it worked ! Thanks again!
