Windows 8

I see a couple mentions of this, just wondering what the offical status is regarding Windows 8.

When I launch the game nothing happens.

I've reinstalled Steam and TWD through steam without luck. I've downloading TWD direct from the site and neither way works.

I don't mind waiting, but I would like to know a status!

Thanks.

Hopefully it won't take too long now that win8 is official. The bug has been consistently reported through the consumer preview and RTM.

Usually related to xbox controller, both wired and wireless. Unplugging, or powering off the wireless version, seems to work for most people.

On my computer it also doesn't like another type of game controller I have that replicates keyboard functionality. This one works if I plug it in only after the game has started. Doesn't work that way with the xbox controller unfortunately. If you've got anything like that you might want to try it.

The workarounds I've seen don't get the controllers to work, just stops the game from crashing on startup.

Thanks, I tried starting the game without the 360 controller plugged in and it did in fact start the game.

I think I'll wait for a fix though because this game is tricky to play without the controller.

    Thanks.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I've been running some form of Windows 8 since before episode 2 came out. Annoyingly TWD is the only program I've had any problems with.

I've been surprised that Telltale didn't have a fix ready for release day. I've heard this bug is in some of their other games as well. Unless they don't think Win8 is going to be worth patching for :)

Oh well. Patiently waiting for a fix while avoiding spoilers.

Yeah I'm worried about all my Steam games. So far nothing is working on there.

It really seems to be the only issues I've run into with W8 so far. At least my productivity hasn't been affected, just my relaxation lol.

That's not good? Everything except Walking Dead has been working fine for me. Even under the Consumer Preview.

This post: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?p=697804 has a solution on post #15, post #16 reminds you not to let them scan your computer. The .dll works fine. I was able to get Jurassic park and the walking dead to recognize the controller
