TWD: Voices crackling and hissing on VIA HD Audio
Hey there,
My problem is quite strange. When I'm playing The Walking Dead, the sound is good, not jerky, even when recording with a software. But the voices are like... not normal. Hard to tell, but I guess the closest description of it is "metallic" voices. Yep...
Which is weird, because I don't have this issue on other recent games !
So, can it be fixed in the game, or could it be a problem relative to my computer. Maybe a kind of incompatibility with a piece of my PC ?
Thanks in advance !

Let's skip the recording for now.
You can try installing the latest VIA HDA Sound driver.
Could you upload a short video demoing the voices on Youtube?
You can make the video private and post the link here.
Sorry, the sound isn't synchro because of the encoding that I don't understand right now. But the sound of the voices is still the same as I hear it in the game.
I've also take a caption of the sound in general so you can see the differences.
I am not sure what's going on there and if i hear the same thing as you do.
Does it change in any way if you reduce the volume of everything in-game?
In order to rule out corrupt installation files, i would also uninstall the game, and redownload and reinstall it.
I'm gonna try to reinstall it like you've recommanded me to do so.
I reinstalled it and it's exactly the same.
Also you can check if there's anything in the sound driver settings that can cause trouble (e.g. global effects).
You mean, like check the VIA HD Audio Deck ?
Because I don't know what to check exactly, but after a few tries, either it's getting worse or I didn't notice any changes. Is it sure that my sound card can handle the game in specific ? Because like I've said, it's only on this game that I get that. For example for Mass Effect 2 or Skyrim, the voices are good.
It would be best if other users with the same sound chip chimed in, but since it's a bit hard to notice depending on the circumstances, that might be difficult.
I adapted the threads topic, maybe it helps bringing people in who have the same issue or no problems with the same chip.
