No auto save

i purchased the Walking Dead game on October 30th 2012. There was no info on how to save any progress so I asumed there would be an auto save setup. Well, after I paused the game and came back 15 minutes later, It started me at the begining of the 1st episode. What gives? Do I have to do the first episode before I can save? I do not have enough time to devote to a game, even if it can be beaten in a few hours. Please fix or let me know how to go about saving. I'm on a Lenovo G570 with windows 7. Thank you

Also, the game will not exit when I go to use the exit button. It just starts the game over again. This seems to be a very flawed game, especially paying $24.99 and not being able to play it probarly in the first day. If there is a fix, please explain it in a way that a person not computer savy can understand. Thank you

We're currently investigating the cause of this issue, but know this can happen by playing a majority of the episode without pausing or exiting the game. Please shut down and then restart the game. If you are still at the beginning of Episode 1, play a scene or two and then pause the game and see if the options listed there work. If they do, and your game is not restarted, you should be able to continue normally. Hopefully we can isolate the cause of this problem, but until then, please pause regularly (every few scenes) to ensure your pause menu options are still working properly, and your game is saving.

If when you restart your game, you are still stuck in the restart loop, please navigate to your Documents\Telltale Games directory and delete the Walking Dead folder.

A telltale rep emailed me and had me send a DXDiag run, that was thursday, haven't heard back yet. Yeah everytime I try to play, pause the game, it starts from the beginning. If it does let me go from where I was, it still does not save if I exit the game. When I try to exit, it starts the game, not exit.

We're still trying to find the root of the issue, but until then, please shut down the game (may require a force close of the application). Now find your Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead folder, and delete this folder. When you launch the game, you will no longer have any save data (you can play without doing this, but may have mixed results). Now, when you start the game, pause and resume for the first few scenes. You should now no longer encounter this issue. Alternatively, once you restart the game, play through to the end of the Episode without pausing.

I did what you said to do, besides playing all the way through, when I pause it and it is paused longer then 5 minutes, it just starts back at the beginning. It seems like a great game, but having to play the same parts over and over again, does not make is seem worth it. The money I spent on the game seems to be a waste of money at this time. When a fix is truly found I might play it again, other then that, if I could return it I would.

We have just tried leaving the game paused for 10 minutes on multiple computers in our test department, including those that have recreated this issue consistently, and simply starting a game and leaving it paused did not restart Episode 1. Are there any other conditions you may have left out that can help us recreate the problem you are experiencing?

Pause the game while your inside pharmacy on episode one. Everytime I've done that the episode restarts as soon as you try to click one of the buttons. Don't even have to wait any period of time. Not sure if choices make any difference but I had duck with me on those playthroughs.

Well, I do not know. I sent in that DXDiag file that was requested by the customer rep. When I have the game playing, I do not have any other programs running, that are not background ones already on a normal computer. I have erased the files I was told too, I have even erased and downloaded the game again that was suggested. I allow the download wizaed to place it in the correct spot.

Hi, I had this problem too when I paused in the pharmacy.

Using Vista. When I did a force exit and re-opened the game I had to start from the beginning even though I can see a savefile from the time I was in the pharmacy - it just won't open.

Really enjoying the game - hope you can resolve this!

    Hi all

Found a fix... when I re-opened the game and chose to rewind (instead of continue) I was back in the pharmacy but where Clemintine was attacked, not where I had last been, but it was a big improvement on starting again!

Hope that helps until there is a fix!

I had this same problem when I first download the game. I was so frustrated. There was no way to save my progress and I couldn't exit the game either. Any time I would pause the game I would lose my progress. I was playing on my Macbook with OSX 10.6.9. I installed the game on my fiance's win 7 hp laptop and her computer wasn't strong enough to run the game...but I still couldn't save. I also installed the game on my windows 7 desktop...and also had the no save problem and lost my game progress.

I then gave up on playing the game until months later I bought a Macbook Pro 13" with OSX 10.7 and then decided I should try to install the game. Sure enough, the problem was gone and I could save the game. But then I noticed the text in the game (the hints and notes at the top of the screen during game play) is just a jumbled mess of white blocks. I can get over that, but then I got the the farm in episode one and the game locks up and I have to force quit the program.

I am back to square one...I can't play the game. Very frustrated.
