Save problem PC

I started the game tonight to continue playing but no saves yet i checked in the file saves and there are 10 saves there!
What is up with this game?

    Your saves are linked to the prefs file in the same directory. Please search your computer to make sure you do not have another copy of your prefs.prop file elsewhere on your computer. Another prefs file can be created if you have a custom setup with multiple hard drives, are not logged into the administrator account, or have manually moved, edited, or altered your existing prefs file.
