Save Issues and Choices Carrying Over Issues

Hello. I am a big fan of Telltales Games, but recently I have been troubling with The Walking Dead Game. I had trouble with saving my game files. I deleted the extra prefs.prop file. I also deleted all previous save files and restarted the whole game from episode one. I was able to go to Episode 2, but my decisions from Episode 1 did not carry over. Ex. Saved Carley, but the episode 2 trailer shows Doug being saved. I also sided with Kenny, however, the trailer implies that I did not. I do not know what else I can do to fix this problem. I've I could get some help from a TellTale's staff member, that would be great! Thank you.

Please make sure you are logged into the administrator account when you play the game. If you are not, you can right click the executable and select 'Run as admin'.

Thanks Matt for taking the time to respond. I tried this, and my choices still do not carry over to episode 2. Is there any other options I could try?

If you've already started episode 2, then your choices are already carried over. You can try rewinding into the last scene of Episode 1 and replaying the end, then starting episode 2 again to see if your choices carry over.

I can play the episodes just fine, but on my first play through it, after every episode it asked me if i wanted to rewind or make random choices. if i hit rewind it would freeze. but when i hit random choices it let me continue with the choices i made.

Then i tried to start a new game under a new save slot. played through the first episode fine. but when it came time for episode 2, it gave me the same choices rewind or random choices.

needless to say the rewind choice frooze the game, but this time so did the random choice button.

What am i doing wrong? it is the steam version and i verified the integrity.
    PC version.

Ok, Matt. I tried rewinding the last scene from episode one. I replayed it and went to play episode 2, the choices did not carry over. What else should I try? Thanks.

I got this same problem. Went so far as to delete everything: uninstalled the game and pretty much deleted anything TelltaleGames from my computer. Then reinstalled it, basically starting from scratch, and the same problem happened. Episode 2 intro showed the opposite decisions of what I did in Episode 1, i.e: Saved Carley, but intro showed Doug was saved.

I'm having the same issue here. BTW, I'm using the Steam Version of the game.

Its terrible. I really wanted a set plan for Episode 5. I guess I ll have to settle for a random version.

Steam version here as well. I read it might be old saves or something overriding the decisions. But assuming me deleting everything worked at all, I don't think that's the cause here.

MattP you can tell TT they've lost another customer, months trying to get my saves to work and no dice. I restart the first episode, slog all the way through its unskippable cutscenes and un-fast-forwardable dialog, get to ep 2 and its all the wrong choices and then stops loading altogether.

I shouldn't be running tech support on my own game so I'll be watching someone else play the final episode and take my money elsewhere. Big screw up Telltale.
