TWD: Lost all progress after 5 ep downloading

so
I pass 4 episode and wait 5, download it today, run the game and what happend
-the game opened in window(no full screen)1 strange
-press play and see notification,how I want to play,with hints or not,after that I saw,that all my progress is lost

go to save folder in my doc, saves here,many many files
found same problem and discovered,that all due to one file prefs.prop, which should be in my steam folder,in common/the walking dead...but here no this file
-why??
press search,not found it,but I found in my save folder,delete it,same problem,replace save folder on my save folder with passed episode 3 and all works,so I have to pass 4 ep again,and after all play in ep 5
why thihs is can happened?because my friend didn't have it and he play 5ep without any losing progress,or this is problem is selected for somebody?

    There should be only one prefs.prop, and that's in this folder:
    Win Vista/7: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
    XP: %userprofile%\My Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead\


    If you're lucky you might be able to use the "restore previous version" feature on the savegame folder (right click, "properties", "restore previous version").

    THIS ACTUALLY WORKED :D. I was having the same problem and when I restored the folder to an older version everything was back to normal!

    Thank you so much! None of the workarounds posted on this board were working for me and this suggestion fixed it easy. I had just about lost all hope for recovery before I tried this.
