TWD Graphics Bug

Until today, I have had no problems whatsoever in playing TWD. However, after downloading episode 5 via Steam, the graphics are behaving weirdly. There are large sections of the screen that are black or translucent. I can see "through" characters and objects, while other characters and objects don't render at all. This makes it impossible to play the game.

I've turned off anti-aliasing, in the hope that that might fix things, but it doesn't seem to have had an effect. Please note that I have never encountered this issue before and I haven't change my computer's hardware since Episode 4.

    Please verify the integrity of your game cache. You may be missing an important file, and this should clear up the problem.

    I did that earlier today, since that was my immediate thought, too, and it said the files were fine, but I'll do it again to be sure.

    Alright, I just verified the integrity of the game cache and the graphics are still behaving oddly.

    You can try deleting the local content to uninstall the game, and then reinstall it and see if you experience the same problem. If you recently saw the Steam message that your game files would be converted into a more efficient format, then you may need to reinstall Steam before it behaves correctly.

    Unfortunately, the problem remains even after an uninstall and re-install. I can try to reinstall Steam, too, I guess ...

    Weirdly, I switched from full screen to windowed mode and the game works fine. I wish I knew why!

    That's weird.
    If you post your dxdiag info we can look if there's anything unusual.

    dxdiag
    Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
    Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
    Windows 8: At the start screen, type in "dxdiag" and hit enter

    Now click on the button that says "save all information".
    It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

    Open the file and press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents, and paste them in a reply by pressing CTRL-V.

    You can try if installing the latest graphics driver helps.

    Though not related to the issue, I also recommend updating the sound driver.

    The new drivers seem to have done the trick. I can now play in full-screen mode as well.
