A future problem I'll get.

So, after going through multiple ways to get the game to NOT crash during launch, I finally found out what was affecting it.

It seems if I disable my internet, the game plays fine. So the game crashes when it tries to connect during that title screen. (and no, I do not have firewalls up. This also happened whether I activate my anti-malware program or disable it)

Now here's my dilemma;
How am I going to get Episode 5? Does steam give me a prompt to download it outside of the game updating itself? Cause I can't launch the program if it tries to connect online.

And no, I did not pirate, I spoke to steam and they pretty much , in round-a-bout fashion, implied that it wasn't their fault some game companies are not able to use their format correctly. So I doubt I'll be getting any sympathy from them.

Is there another way to get episode 5 at this point?

Steam should automatically update the game files when you launch the application. You should not have to start the game to get Episode 5. If the game does not automatically update when you log on to Steam, then there's a problem on their end delivering the content.
