i tried restoring the folder to like a week ago, didnt work, also tried to delete the folder, but nothing happened, pls help me, i want to play episode 5 so bad right now :(

Somehow i managed to play about 10 minutes, and again. Still getting error
All drivers are updated, Windows updated too. Tried tricks with saves - also didn't work.

Did the game crash while you played or what happened?
Are you playing the Steam or TTG store version?

That was usual walkingdead101.exe stopped working

Please try if it still crashes during a clean boot.

Booting clean in Windows Vista / 7:
1. Click Start --> Type msconfig --> Press Enter
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Load Startup Items
4. Select the Services tab
5. Check Hide all Microsoft services
6. Click Disable all
7. If running the game on Steam, re-check the "Steam Client Service"
8. Click on OK
9. Click Restart.
10. After reboot, run the game to see if it works.

After performing the necessary steps, restore your settings by doing the following:

1. Click Start --> Type msconfig --> Press Enter
2. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
3. Click Ok
4. Click Yes, when asked to restart your computer

Could it be cause of notebook overheat? Before the crash there was some FPS issues when i'm getting Lee's control, but in QTE moments and dialogs FPS was ok.

That's a possibility.

I suggest you log the CPU and GPU activity while running the game, and post the results.


CPU: Download Core Temp. Start it and activate logging in the menu under "Tools/Logging on".

The log file created is called similar to "CT-Log [TIME][DATE].csv".

GPU: Download GPU-Z.
Start it, select the "sensors" tab, and activate "Log to File" at the bottom of the window.
Choose a location for the log file.

Zip the files and attach them to a reply in this thread.

I can't really assess the situation properly based on the data. At any rate i would make sure your notebooks cooling vents are dust free and not blocked while you play.

Do other games or applications crash too?

I currently have no good ideas.

You can test the overheating theory a bit further by letting the notebook cool down for a few hours, and testing how long you can play until it crashes.
Write down the GPU and CPU temperatures before you start the game, and right after it has crashed.

Assuming heat is an issue, you can also try if you can play longer if you turn down the games graphics settings (except resolution and brightness) to the minimum.

You can copy back the backup you made above to restore your savegames, or try "restore previous version" again.
