Black screen / Startup freeze on OSX

I simply can't play the game on my Macbook Pro running OSX Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

Downloaded it through Telltale's site, installed it and when I open up the game a black screen appears with no other screen information.

Nothing works until I press Command + Alt/Option + Esc to force quit the program.

What to do? Very frustrating.

Still no response from the support team? Great.

When you first launch the game, you will connect to our servers to download the various patches and updates we've released since the series premiered in April. Depending on your connection speed, this can take several minutes, or upwards of an hour. Each time you launch the game going forward, a check will be made to ensure you have all the patches. This check will only occur when you are online.

Tks for answering. It stays on the black screen until these things are solved then?

Turning my internet connection off solved the endless balck screen on startup.

Please keep in mind that if you play offline and do not have all applicable patches, you may experience other issues with the game as you progress through it.

I'm having the same problem, except I bought my copy from Steam. I'd really like it fixed so I can finish the game. I let my computer sit for over 2 hours with the black screen, and nothing happened. Offline mode didn't help either. Does anyone have any ideas?

I guess I'm not gonna get an answer from Tell-Tale. I can't say I blame you for not Answering, MattP. It looks like you're the only guy that got stuck answering everyone's technical problems in these forums.

I apologize for the delayed response. This issue has been escalated to our programming team, and is currently being investigated for a potential solution.
