More ep. 5 Walking Dead issues -- Mac/Steam

I'm going to repeat bits from a few other posts, but none of the solutions have helped me so far.

Everything seemed to have run fine up until episode 5 downloaded. Episode 5 is listed as installed. When I pull up my current game, it starts at the last bit of episode 4 where Lee reaches for the walkie, a part I've already played. Episode ends, credits roll, and I'm returned to the main menu. Episode 5 is now listed as coming soon.

When I try to just play episode 5 and agree to have the game generate my choices, the screen goes blank and freezes.

I've restarted my computer (Mac OS 10.6.8) several times.

I only have one prefs.prop file, and it's located in library/application support/telltale games/thewalkingdead.

The Walking Dead application is located in library/application support/steam/steamapps/common/the walking dead. I also tried moving it to library/application support/telltale games/thewalkingdead, but the same problems occurred.

Any help would be appreciated -- I'm very frustrated at not being able to complete this game.

I'm having the same problem and created my own thread as well. I hope they do something about this soon. This is getting more frustrating by the day.

Hey guys...for the Mac users...I just posted this:

    Here's a little progress, anyway:

Using the Steam client, I went to the library tab and right-clicked on The Walking Dead for a menu, then chose Properties. I clicked the Local Files tab, then chose Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Now my Ep. 4 session appears to save -- when I try to start it, it attempts to begin at Ep. 5, whereupon the screen promptly goes black/freezes up.

Still can't play Ep. 5, either after replaying 4 (the credits roll, then dumps me back to the main menu, but this time Ep. 5 _is_ listed as installed) or on its own by allowing random choices.

I really hope somebody finds a fix for this. I don't know what else to try.

Deleted game, reinstalled from Steam, moved over my saves and switched around old and new prefs.prop file and Sync.Fs folder (I think I used new prefs.prop and old Sync.Fs), and that seemed to work -- I'm back where I was, starting Ep. 5 with my choices from Ep. 4 intact.

Phew -- that was a pain. Still don't quite know what happened, but at least I can finish . . . and see that everyone's going to be okay, right? And Lee and Clem and everyone else are going to a zombie-free tropical island where they'll find plenty of food and Clem's parents and . . . right?
