Can't play episode 2 of the walking dead.

Alright so, I played all the way through episode 4, lost all my data for unrelated reasons. Re-downloaded the game and started over, no problem, I got to make new choices.

I played half way through episode 2 then had to quit. Came back to it and it doesn't load. Even though I click play it gives me a prompt as if I've clicked rewind. Either way if I click no or yes, nothing happens just a dark screen.

So I replay episode 1 in a different save slot, works fine then I get to episode two and I can't play it at all. I haven't played episode 5 yet and I kind of don't want to play with random choices, what's the point of having played the first four episodes then?

Anyway, if there's a fix I'd be very appreciative to learn of it.

I guess I should mention I'm playing on a Mac running Snow Leopard

This is essentially the same thing that happened to me. Bought, waited for, and played episodes 1-4. The wait for 5 almost killed me. However, I made it mostly by forcing my friends to buy and play it so I could watch them. Episode 5 comes out and I get home and download it. I try to start the game and it just shows a black screen with static noise. Unhappily, I load up the end of episode 4 and try from there, only to be met with the same problem. I try earlier and earlier in the episode and the problem persists. At this point, I'm extremely frustrated and turn off the game for a few days. When I come back, I try again with no success. Then I start a new game cause all my friends who I got hooked are ranting about how good the ending is. I get all the way through episode 1 with no problems, but when I begin episode 2, the black screen plus static returns. Please help. I loved the first 4 episodes and want to continue to buy Telltale's games, but this isn't making me happy.
I'm playing on Mac running Mountain Lion.

When you say you lost your data, can you clarify what happened? If you lost your hard drive to a crash or something like that, it shouldn't be relevant, but if you are using the same hard drive without clearing out the save directory, that is probably relevant.

Also, please shut down the game and ensure you have a strong internet connection and then re-launch the game. The issue you described with being prompted to rewind may be caused by not having all applicable patches installed. The check for these patches occurs when you launch the game, and will automatically install if you have an active connection to our server.

Yeah it crashed. And I've restarted the game several times. I actually just finished playing episode 2 for the umpteenth time and now it says coming soon for episodes 2-5 even though they're all installed. And I have no option to rewind for episode 2 or 1 but my stats are there.

If I exit the game and come back to play episode 3 it asks me if I want to use random choices for skipped episodes. I thought about just playing episode 5 with random choices but now I can't even do that.
