Cannot launch tales of monkey island

Hi i just bought tales of monkey island complete on steam, and i downloaded chapter 1, 2 and 3 but all are crashing when I try to launch them. I get the windows message "MonkeyIsland101.exe has stopped working" immediately with another "send report to microsoft" in which the details say that the files that help describe the problem are:

C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp\WER6F69.tmp.appcompat.txt
C:\Users\AppData\Local\Temp\WER6F89.tmp.hdmp

After a few more tries the game doesn't display the message anymore and simply does not launch.

I tried deleting local files and redownloading, but still the same problem.

Please post your dxdiag info.

Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
Windows 8: At the start screen, type in "dxdiag" and hit enter

Now click on the button that says "save all information".
It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

Open the file and press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents, and paste them in a reply by pressing CTRL-V.

Your hardware and drivers look great, but Windows 8 is not a supported operating system for Tales of Monkey Island. Further you don't even have the final Version of Windows 8.

The DINPUT8.dll error implies, that it might help if you unplug all non essential USB devices, especially game controllers.

You can also try running the game in Win XP SP3 compatibility mode.

i resolved it by downloading dinput8.dll and placing it in the folder of the game. Thanks for the help.
