Episode 2 fence problem

Finally got past Brenda, wrestled with the guy, now he turns on the fence and I keep getting zapped; just isn't enough time for the q/e thing. Is there something I'm missing? I saw one hotspot before he jammed Lee into the fence but clicking on it did nothing. HELP

    Theres nothing you are missing. You just have to bash Q.

    I'm at the same part now and bashing Q does absolutely nothing. I haven't had a problem with any of the other quick time events in this game.

    EDIT: Ok, I finally managed to do it. Seems the trick was to not press anything for a few seconds, then start pressing Q.
