TWD: Xbox 360 bought disc and cannot start episode 2

Hey I'm playing on my 360 and I beat episode 1 and when I go to continue it shifts over to episode 2 and I hit a on play then it loads but it starts at the beginning of episode 1 when your in the car. I'm not connected to the net and when I asked a friend he said there hasn't been an update. It says all episodes are intstalled so y isn't it working?

    It may help by connecting to the internet, the game logs data about your progress whenever a chapter is completed.

    im having the same problem i bought the game on disc and it does the same thing for me wont let me play episode one and i click on it and it takes me back to the first episode

    We are trying to determine the cause of this issue. If you can assist by providing some more information about your xbox console, that you be a huge help. We need to know which xbox console you have. Over the years, many versions have been released and the only way to tell the difference is based off the Manufacturer date. On the back of your xbox, you will find a serial number, product number, and manufacturer date. If you can provide the manufacturer date and any other information about your xbox (slim, elite, standard edition, 20/60/120/250 gb hard drive), that will be very helpful.

    I just bought "the walking dead" for Xbox 360. The Xbox is new, just purchased it 3 weeks ago, it's the halo 4 edition 320gb. I am having the same problem as the person above. I can play and finish episode 1 but it will not let me continue to episode 2. I have tried replaying, rewinding, and starting in episode 2 from a different save slot. Do you have to be connected to the Internet to play cause I wasn't while playing episode 1. Answers please

    If you are still expereincing Episode 1 starting when you attempt to play Episode 2 (or later), can you please give me a little more information?

    Is your xbox account an offline, silver (free), or gold account?
    Are you playing online or offline?
    Has Episode 1 been played or completed?
    When Episode 1 loads instead of 2 (or later), does it load from the beginning or does it load your last checkpoint?

    I signed up for the free account, I'm not online while playing, it has been completed(multiple times), it starts over when I try to continue after completion of episode 1 after credits role it asks if I want to continue then starts at the beginning of episode 1. I'm sure the disc has all episodes, it shows that they are on there. Not sure of the problem, maybe just me. Help

    I had the same problem. When I completed episode one and continue to episode two it just restarts episode one.

    Background info is that I have a 250gb XBOX-S from the holiday bundle, I have been an xbox live gold member for 3 years and received the update when prompted, when I first started the game. Please fix this as soon as possible. Thanks.

    I'm still having the same issue with the game. Can't figure out how to get past episode 1 after I have completed it. Please help!! Would really appreciate help with this.

    Having the same issue. Original Xbox, MFG date: 8-1-2006, 120 GB HD, XBOX Live Gold Member, connected to the internet via wifi.

    After I finished episode 1 and tried to continue to episode 2, the game loaded back to the begining of episode 1 again. Tried to continue from my save, which brought up the episode 2 menu, but again episode 1 restarted. Tried several different combinations of loads / save / loads, no luck. Then I went into the games menu on my xbox dashboard and notice that there were 2 the walking dead games showing up, one with achievements, one without. I started the one that showed the achievements, and bam, espisode 2 loaded correctly. Not sure if that is what got it rolling, but it was the last thing that I did before it worked correctly.

    Then, Finished espisode 2, but the game froze on the progress report at the end of the espisode. I was able to bring up the xbox menu and cycle through, so I know the xbox itself didn't freeze. I had to restart the game to get things moving again, loaded my save file, tried to continue with episode 2 to start espisode 3, and un-bam, back to the start of episode 1 again. Tried the same game menu trick of earlier, but no luck this time. Even when I try to rewind to replay the last part of episode 2 again, the game loads, then back to the start of episode 1 again. If i try to look at the progress info from episode 2, a blank page shows up and the game freezes again everytime. Out of idea's this time. Any thing I can try to help you guys figure out what is going on please let me know, thanks

    Heres a little solution to the save problem that will let you play the game until it is fixed.

    For example, You are 10 minutes into episode 4 and you exit the game. When you try and load the save file up, just copy the file from one slot onto another, so you will end up with two of the same saved files. Now load one of them up and it will most likely start from episode 1 again. Just go to the main menu and
    re copy the saved file from episode 4 onto the second slot again and keep repeating these steps until the file for episode 4 starts up. It only takes about 4-5 tries for it to work. This will start up from exactly the last save point.
