Season 2 Ep 2 (Moai) question

Okay, I've already finished off this episode (very nice, especially the "Do you have any..." Fallout reference!), but I have a question. I didn't bother making a manual save shortly before
Mr. Spatula's water cooler and ghost were knocked off the Myst-like pod/volcano machine,

and noticed afterwards that the mess landed on top of the blue gong that I hadn't used up until that point. Not wanting to go all the way back to the beginning of the episode to find out - because I'm lazy - my question is, does anything different happen if you hit that blue gong before causing the aforementioned spoiler-tagged event to occur?

P.S. What happened to Sybil after she dumped Abe? She just sort of disappeared, and I was sure that the lonely folks' travel guide was going to be useful when I found her - except I never did find her!

    Don't bother going back to the beginning of the game. The position of the triangle doesn't affect that scene.

    You'll have to wait until the next episode to find out what happens to the characters. I'm looking forward to finding out myself.
