Episode 2 Always die

Hi
I've played through chapter 1 and chose to not save Carley. In the scene at the truck in Chapter 2 (When the teacher with no leg attacks) I always die no matter what. I gave the guy with glasses the axe, and it seems no matter how fast I press q, I always die.
Any Tips?
