I wrote and complained 10 days ago to steam about buying the walking dead. I have had no reply whatsoever about my issues. I have posted on the forums and it seems they just don't reply so I though I would come here to who made this broken game. I spent thee hours when buying this game just to get the game to even load. I had the stupid walkingdead 101 problem and it took me ages to rectify this trying so many solutions. Now the game loads I can't play as the stuttering is unbelievable even with lowering shadows and putting eveything down to lowest e.r resolution and everything minimum. I emailed steam about this aswell I have not heard anything I think its just unfair. I have given them £12 for the ability to not be able to play a game. I know some people will say Its my computer but I have a decent rig and from reading the forums it seems the problems I have had are a common occurrence with no fix. I have always been so happy with steam support, but the support I have had with this has been utter crap. Unless there is a way to fix it I would like my money back, I do not think this is unfair to ask as its not just a problem I am having. Its one think to release a game with bugs, but to release game that is unplayable and give no warning is disgusting.

    I can try some troubleshooting.

    Do you play on PC or Mac?

    Either way it can help if you post some system information.

    PC
    Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
    Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
    Windows 8: At the start screen, type in "dxdiag" and hit enter

    Now click on the button that says "save all information".
    It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

    Open the file and press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents, and paste them in a reply by pressing CTRL-V.
    Sometimes the Forums spam filter catches long posts like this. Don't worry, we can still see them and make them visible.

    Mac
    Open a terminal (e.g. by typing terminal into spotlight).
    Run the system profiler to copy selected system information to the clipboard, by copying the command line below into the terminal and pressing enter:

    system_profiler -detailLevel mini SPHardwareDataType SPSoftwareDataType SPDisplaysDataType SPAudioDataType | pbcopy

    Now paste the clipboard into a new reply to this post, by pressing Command + V.

    Here's something that helped two people with stuttering issues:

    Hi, I tried that and after doing that the game would not run and would die after a few minutes :/

    That's unfortunate. Do you run the game in any compatibility mode or other special settings?

    Hi Yes I had to run it in compatibility mode to get the game to launch ( I tried so many damn things just to get the thing to even load). It is set on windows 98 to make it run.

    I met a user earlier who only had stuttering in the compatibility mode, so if we get it running without that, there's a chance for improvement.

    I noticed that you don't have Win7 SP1 installed. I recommend running windows update.

    I would also install the latest Realtek HD Audio driver.

    Further please make sure that Antialiasing and Anisotropic filtering are set to "application controlled" in your graphics cards settings.

    Finally please try if it works better in compatibility mode, or even without it.
