I fell stupid

I got the Walking Dead PC game for Christmas and when I try to load it on my computer my computer tells me to insert a disc in the drive... well the darn disc is already in there .... stupid machine... I have tried other games as well as music CDs and it is not having any trouble reading them... I took one game back to the store and told them it was not working properly but I still have the same problem with the new one... what am I doing wrong? and yes I spelled fell stupid instead of feel stupid... maybe that is it I just shouldnt be allowed to use a computer lol

    Can you please post your dxdiag info?

    Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
    Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
    Windows 8: At the start screen, type in "dxdiag" and hit enter

    Now click on the button that says "save all information".
    It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.

    Open the file and press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C to copy the contents, and paste them in a reply by pressing CTRL-V.

    Can you try if the disc is recognized in a different computer?

    Also, you don't seem to have a sound driver installed. Does sound currently work on your PC?

    I do usually have sound but my daughter stole my speakers. My laptop does recognise the disc and let me intall it but I get an error that a dll file is missing and my laptop wont open anything online... another problem I can not figure out. It says I am online and when I open yahoo for instance it then says I am not online. but it does see the disc

    That's weird. If only the speakers are disconnected, it should still show the sound card in the dxdiag. We'll see. If sound doesn't work once you have the speakers reconnected, let me know.

    Okay, since the laptop recognizes it, the disc is okay, and there might be some incompatibility with your other computers dvd drive.

    I can't be sure if it will help, but you can try updating the dvd drive to the latest firmware, if you haven't done so yet.

    If you want to do troubleshooting for your laptop, please post its dxdiag too.
    Also please post the exact error message regarding the dll.

    Your network issue sounds weird. How does it "say you are online"?
