TWD: Can't play 4th and 5th episodes

I began with PlayStation plus. I played episodes 1 and 2 for free and episode 3 I bought. Now I don't have PlayStation plus and I spent 10 dollars on episodes 4 and 5, but it now wants me to buy and play episodes 1-3 first! This isn't fair and I just wasted 10 dollars =(

    I know this is not the answer you are looking for but you just learned first hand Telltale does not play test enough and will unlikely fix this issue.
