TWD on Mac...unplayable...need refund
So after hearing a lot of positive stuff about TWD, I decided to purchase the full pack on the Tell Tale site. I wasn't too worried, because I've already played Monkey Island on my Mac and it worked fine. Unfortunately, it didn't work out so well.
Occasionally, the game freezes and nothing I do can solve the problem. The only option is a hard reset, which quite frankly I'm not too comfortable with doing all the time. But worse still, I'm now at a point where the game always freezes, every time I restart the machine and launch the game I get a couple of seconds of a cut scene before it freezes again. I did have a similar problem before and after reading some suggestions on this board, I turned down the settings and especially turned off anti aliasing. That helped in the first instance, but I still got the occasional freeze afterwards and now I'm stuck again.
I'm still in Episode 1, I have hardly seen anything of the game. right now I'm in the pharmacy, the last thing I did was to exit it through the back door. Everythime I start the game now, I get to see a cut scene where the main character and his partner duck in order not to be seen by a Zombie, at which point the game freezes.
I hope this can be fixed and I seriously hope that there will be some sort of update eventually. This Mac port is absolutely terrible and it appears as if I'm not the only one having problems. If it doesn't get fixed, I want my money back, because I haven't really seen much of the game.
I'm running the game on a late 2008 MacBook with a 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4 GB of RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce 9400M and OS X 10.8.2 (Mountain Lion).
