[TWD] Episode 5 wrong start

Hello,
I'm having a problem with episode 5 of The Walking Dead: No Time Left, the game forces Lee to go alone in the last episode independently of what I choose in the end of episode 4.
I tried different dialog options, but the outcome in episode 5 is always the same, in episode 4 it wouldn't even let me to go alone, Omid and Christa always decide to accompany me, no matter of what I say, I also tried rewinding further back in episode 4, but I still get the same result.

    Spoilers!!

when you hide the bite christa/omid very rarely go with you. with kenny it depends on how you supported him and what arguments you use. Never took ben with me but in case you weren't nice to him you can mention that Clem defended him in crawford if you took her with you and he will also join.

there are many factors that play a role in who joins you if any. but it mostly works, i tried in several playthroughs.

the problem is not that I can't convince them to come, I did, I convinced them; the problem is that in episode 5 the game forces me to be alone.

In Episode 4 they are there:9MlNp.jpg

But In the intro of Episode 5 the game says that I decided to go alone, when I did not:

Do you have the TTG Store, Steam or CD version?
Are you playing on Mac or PC?

It's possible that your issue is caused by having multiple prefs.prop files, which sometimes happens for unknown reasons.
There should be only one prefs.prop, and that's in the savegame folder:
    Win Vista/7: %USERPROFILE%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead\
    XP: %userprofile%\My Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead\

If you run TWD in compatibility mode for win95 or win98/me it might save to:
    %PUBLIC%\Documents\Telltale Games\GameData\
    or
    %PUBLIC%\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead\

Please open the games install folder.

To find the install folder from within Steam, right-click "The Walking Dead" and select "properties".
Then open the "Local Files" Tab. There select "Browse local files".

Please check if there are additional prefs.prop files in the install folder or its subfolders.
If so, make a backup copy of the prefs.prop and delete it from the install folder.

    Now try the game.

If that doesn't help try the steps below.

If you are playing through steam, you first need to disable steam cloud for TWD (In Steam, right click TWD and select "properties". Open the tab "updates" and remove the checkbox from "Enable Steam cloud synchronization for TWD").

Then make a backup copy of the savegame folder's prefs.prop, and then try copying the install folder prefs.prop to the savegame folder.

Thank you, as a matter of fact, there was an extra prefs.prop file in the game folder, I deleted it and even though I had to rewind a good portion of ep.4, it worked and my decisions were carried over in ep.5 .
Thank you, DjNDB, you have been most helpful.
