Does TellTale even read their forums? At this point it seems there are too many bugs to make the game playable on a Mac. I would really appreciate getting my money back.
All Telltale support is done by one guy who doesn't work for their company. That should tell you something, lol.
It's a whole group of people WITH problems vs. a whole group of people WITHOUT problems. As long as there are users without any trouble being able to play and finish the game, Telltale doesn't have to refund anything, because it is proven that the game is not broken.
I'm not saying it isn't broken though, because I had my share of problems as well, but it's just peculiar the game will run on certain systems without any trouble, like it's specifically developed for certain hardware.
The game has been patched multiple times already. I've bought the game in pre-order and begun downloading it somewhere around July 2012. The first draft of episode 1 was perfect, but I wasn't able to download episode 2, at all. Even when my internet connection was flawless. Multiple users began having the same shit, and an update application was put on the Telltale website for download.
Afterwards, multiple updates were downloaded when starting the game in the Fall of 2012. Telltale is trying and patching their game, but the problems just keep on returning. It's getting to a point that I don't know if they even know how to fix all the bugs. How can you find and fix something which is not even broken with some users?
BUT ... I know I sound like a Telltale asskisser and even though I am still rooting for them, I am just as disappointed in them as some of you as well.
The main problem being the absolute silence from Telltale developers and support. I know DjNDB helps us a lot and we all thank him for that, but I've sent multiple mails to support@telltalegames.com and I haven't had any support at all. They only read that they knew there were problems with multiple Mac users and that were working on it. I'm sorry, but that's not supporting your audience, that's just waving them away. Again, I thank DjNDB for his time and effort he has put into supporting anyone with problems, but after 9 months you'd think there was an official fix from Telltale.
My second problem, which has nothing to do with me fortunately, but made me frown is the completely broken Xbox retail version. I'm seeing multiple people who got this game for christmas or even parents who bought the game for their children and aren't able to play the game, or it crashes on them. This is a retail disc version and should be completely bug-free. Sometimes people paid 60 bucks for this disc...
I don't play the Xbox version of the game, but if I did, I'd be right there with these guys protesting.
The latter problem has already been resolved. There has already been a solution posted for the Xbox problem (and an alternate solution for people who don't want or can't afford the required hardware for the aforementioned solution).
I'm not really up to date with the Xbox version, but this is good news.
This should relax a couple of Xbox gamers.
And I saw your edited part later
I was pretty sure TTG was working on fixes and patches and the lot, but you have to understand frustration can lead to anger. My life is busy enough to have the patience to wait on updates and bug-fixes, but I can also understand that there are people around who game everyday and just wanted to finish or even start the game. Waiting for a month is pretty hard, but waiting longer than that can cause people to lose hope. It's very easy pointing fingers towards the developers of a game which will not run well, especially when people pay money for something.
But then again, my game got fixed, somehow, so I went from being disappointed to being a Telltale fan again with Walking Dead being my favorite TT game.
