The Walking Dead - Not even starting

So I purchased The Walking Dead off steam last night, only to find that once I attempted to start the game, through steam or the .exe file, nothing happens. I mean, I get nothing at all. The mouse cursor changes to the "loading" cursor for about 5 seconds, then nothing.

After searching the forums and noticing that this problem isn't exactly exclusive to me, I figured I could find a solution. No luck what so ever.

So in case i missed something, what can I do to atleast start the game? Is there a solution for this? Or is Telltale even looking into it?!

I play the Telltale version on Mac so I'm not sure what the problem can be, but I saw some standard 'fixes' lying around like running the game as administrator, setting the compatibility to XP, verifying your local files in Steam, updating graphic drivers, etc.
Hopefully one of these things will help you start the game.

Thanks for the reply. As for the solutions you've suggested, I've verified my files several times, attempted the compatibility to many operating systems, ran the game as admin, and I only updated my graphics card less than a week ago...

Suffice it to say, I'm getting a little frustrated.

    Yeah, I feel you.
It took me half a year to be able to install, play, save and complete a game which has about 2 hours of gameplay per episode.
When I was finally able to play it, I absolutely loved it though.
I wish I could do more for you, but I'm not that familiar with Windows.
Hopefully DjNDB will show up soon and work his magic. For now I can only recommend browsing around the support forum and trying multiple things.

If all else fails, there has been one dude who has been able to get a refund from Steam directly, after months of e-mails. But that seems like a last resort.

    Good luck!

There's a merged thread about the issue, but i haven't found a solution yet that works for everyone.

Please try the suggestions in this post first.

    Hey people.
    thanks for your replies.

this is just an update. i got it working and have now played 2 chapters relatively bug free.!

my solution: uninstall and reinstall both the game and steam itself.

    hope that helps anyone else
