Games don't start (Mac)

I have a OS X computer version 10.8.2. I recently bought episodes from Sam and Max season 2. downloaded the game on applications like it told me to and I tried to start the game up. The game shows up on my toolbar as I load it, but the game doesn't start. Nothing shows up. Am I doing something wrong? Can I get a refund?

    Are you getting an error message at all?
    It's possibly a Gatekeeper issue, in which case, doing the following might help:

    1) Open System Preferences
    2) Open Security & Privacy
    3) Go to the General Tab
    4) Change the "Allow applications downloaded from:" setting to "Anywhere"

    I Got it at first and I switched it to anywhere, but now nothing shows up.

    Also don't rename the files, TTG and renaming on OS X don't go hand in hand I found out.
