Walking dead saves

Is there a way not to lose part of my progress everytime I stop and resume playing? It has an autosave, but sometimes (like tonight) it threw me back a good 10 minutes of gameplay because I cant save my own game, but instead have to rely on an autosave that does not tell me even when it just saved.

    As far as I know there is no manual save feature, but you are informed about autosaves whenever you see a small rotating icon in top right of the screen.
