Will I lose my saves if I uninstall then re-install the game?

I am playing The Walking Dead on Xbox 360. I have played through Episodes 1 and 2 a couple of times without any problems.

I have been experiencing the glitch where Episode 3 will not start correctly. When I try to start Episode 3, Episode 1 starts instead.

According to Matt's post here http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44741, if I uninstall all of the episodes and then reinstall them, I will be prompted to download the title update, which should fix this and other glitches.

My question is, if I uninstall the game and reinstall it as described, will I lose my saves and game progress? If so, how can I avoid this? (I would much rather continue my current game save than have to start from the beginning, AGAIN!)

I don't play games as much as others might. If there is a way to back up a game save on Xbox 360, how do I do that?

    The save file is separate from the episode files, so you can delete and re-download the episodes without deleting your save files, hopefully you will still be prompted for the update.

    Thanks, it worked fine and I was finally able to play episode 3 last night!
