The Walking Bugs

Hi all,

after reading good reviews about this game, I finally downloaded Episode 1. When first attempting to launch the game, my Xbox froze three times. The whole screen was black, and pressing any buttons (including guide) resulted in no response.

I deleted the game and downloaded again. Instead of the black screen I know received the message (not verbatim) "The game cannot be started." and I was returned to the dashboard.

I deleted the game and a 15kb update I had not known about from my console, cleared the cache and downloaded again. Third time lucky, I hoped.

Indeed, I finally got to play right up to the part after the farm. A cutscene has Kenny, his wife?, Duck, Clementine and my character arriving in a city, and Duck spots some walkers. A loading screen appears and I receive the message (not verbatim) "The device containing the game is no longer available", and I was back at the dashboard.
I've tried it three more times - always with the same result.

I send a message to support@telltalegames.com in which I explained the problem and received a timely response from Matt (two days later which I consider acceptable given the apparent problems with this game). The message asked me to do exactly what I had done multiple times before (and stated so in my email).

Nevertheless, I deleted the game, update and save game yet again. I once again cleared the cache and further disconnected the rooter for 30 secs before turning it back on. I read somewhere that this may help with Xbox Live problems.

Another download. Launch. This time I was prompted to download the update. I did. Message "The game cannot be started." I deleted the update and declined it at the next launch. "The game cannot be started."

So all I can say after this experience with my first Telltale Games software is that this is by far the worst game I have ever played (or rather attempted to). I am glad not to have purchased the other four episodes.
Against all odds, I'm hoping for somebody to have a solution. In the meantime, I strongly advice anybody interested in the game to not download it until the apparent multitude of glitches will be resolved.

I also wonder if anybody has been successful in getting a refund of the 400 microsoft points wasted.

Cheers,
Mick
