TWD Episode 2 black screen

Hello,

I just registered on this forum, so I'm new.

I bought the game on Steam, the 5 episodes pack, I run it on Mac. It's an amazing game, I finished Episode 1 yesterday, however, when I launch Episode 2, there's just a black screen, nothing else happens, no sound, totally nothing.

I've been trying to solve this problem for hours now, like moving the save files etc...I haven't found any solution to this issue yet.

That's really annoying; I've also tried to launch Episode 3, it works perfectly.

I'm literally lost and don't know what to do for finally ending this issue and playing again.

Thank you for your answer.

Please follow the instructions to run the Support Tool and attach the resulting "support_data_mac.zip" to your next reply in this thread.

I see you already tried some prefs.prop workarounds.

I can't see any specific problem.

Have you tried verifying the game cache files or reinstalling the game?

If you .zip and upload your prefs.prop and *.save files i can take a look at them.
Please upload them to an instant filehoster and post the download link.

You could have put them all in one .zip file. That would have been easier to upload and download.
I tried this set of saves, and they are at the beginning of episode one.

I think you uploaded an old backup instead of the current save files.
The actual savegame location on your system is:
    /Users/simonlebard/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/TheWalkingDead
and according to your support data it should contain at least 13 save files with the prefs.prop.

Please put them in one .zip file and upload them.

Also please try uninstalling the game entirely and reinstalling it.

    I can't find the 13 files you've just mentioned.

My Telltalegames package is in my documents, and I only see the files I uploaded before.

I'm going to try to reinstall the game, however, what about the save files ?

The folder is hidden by default.
You can navigate to the savegame folder by starting Finder, and selecting "Go/Go to Folder..." from the menu or pressing CMD-SHIFT-G, and pasting the path below into it.
    ~/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/TheWalkingDead/

    Finder doesn't find

Sorry, I got it actually !

    This is what I've gotten: 13 save files, 1 prefs.prop, 1 prefs.prop.orig; 2 prefs.prop.orig with numbers.

That's unexpected. Please try again by copy+pasting this path instead:
    /Users/simonlebard/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/TheWalkingDead

That's good. Please select the prefs.prop and all .save files at once, and compress them into one .zip file, and upload the zip file.

The file seems to be broken. It's also unusually big.
Are you sure you uploaded the file you just created?
To be sure open it and check if the save files are in there.

    Yes, that's better.
I tested the save files and they are fine.

One more thing you could try is deleting the "SyncFs" folder from the savegame folder.

If that doesn't help, you can try creating a second mac user account and running the game there.

I can head back to this awesome game !!!!
