BTTF 1 Cannot Save Game?

I finally started playing BTTF 1 today and had to leave for a bit so I "quit" the game. I came back planning to play a bit more, only to find that the game didn't save? I read various threads and the only way I can get the game to launch is from the "Back to the Future the Game" launcher (which has all 5 eps in it). When I try and launch it from the Episode 1 shortcut, nothing happens when I hit the play button even though I'm logged into my account. I'm afraid to start over for fear it won't save again. What am I doing wrong?

    You have to save manually in BTTF, and under some circumstances the save & load entry is missing from the main menu. Using the episodes shortcut is a workaround for that.

    The play button is another issue.
    Have you tried running it from the episode 1 shortcut by right clicking on it and selecting "run as administrator"?

    I had the same problems in OS X, but that looked like a server problem. The Telltale site was down as well and as soon as it was back up, the game loaded without problems.

    Well, I did some reading in the forums, so I tried the episode launcher, logged in, and clicked play. Nothing happened. Clicked play a dozen times and nothing. I will try the "run as administrator" today. As for saving manually, when I used the main BTTF launcher, with all 5 episodes, I couldn't find a save/load option anywhere. Will let you know if the other way works. Thank you!

    I made a shortcut from episode 1 launcher, then ran as administrator, logged in, hit play, and it worked! Plus, there is now the load/save options! Thank you so much! I was really looking forward to playing today. Very addicting!
