Episode 5 gives me incorrect choices for Episodes 3 onwards

Hello everyone.

I just finished episode 5, and I have to say that TWD has been a very good game experience. However, I have had a few issues where my choices are not carried through correctly. For instance, at the end of Ep. 4, I went straight for Clementine's hat before being bitten, while the "previously on TWD" showed Lee investigating the clutter and being bitten before picking up the hat. At the end of Ep. 5, the Stranger accuses me of letting Clementine eat "disgusting human meat", when I managed to prevent that from happening (a YouTube video shows that the what the stranger should have said was something like "you took her to the cannibal place"). He also accused me of being a murderer etc., when I didn't kill the St. Johns brothers. Basically, the game remembers me having done a lot of things in situations where I actually did something else. I was a consistent "good guy" in this game. Furthermore, the game can inform me that I "left Duck behind" in the Woods, when I actually had Kenny shoot him.

These are large decisions, and although I loved the game, I sort of feel that it has cheated me a little. Is there any way to fix this? If I decide to play the game again, is there any guarantee the game will remember my choices correctly?

I will say that my playthrough has been plagued by various errors and bugs. For example, I've had to download a couple of episodes manually, and I've had to use the time-stamp workaround to get my saves back after the game repeatedly "forgot" my saves - even though they were actually present in the folder all along.

Thanks for any help.

The Timestamp workaround could have caused problems. I think the episode stats are stored in the prefs.prop, and if that's what is being used when the stranger talks to you, that would explain the wrong choices there. I haven't checked that though, so that's just a theory.

There is also a chance that some of your problems were caused by having multiple prefs.prop files, which i can check.
Please follow the instructions to run the Support Tool and attach the resulting "support_data_pc.zip" or "support_data_mac.zip" to your next reply in this thread.

The same thing happened to me. I was furious because I specifically chose options that would give the man on the radio less to criticize me about and then the computer started making up things. It said I made Clementine eat human meat when I didn't and the end game stats said I helped Kenny kill Larry which was annoying since I went through most of the game arguing with Kenny because I tried to save Larry. This has made it hard for me to play the game again since there is no real guarantee that my choices will carry over. I was playing it on PS3 and played each episode on there release dates.
