Black screen

I have the same problem lots of people have reported; when I try to start up either of my saved games for TWD, I just get a black screen with a cursor and music. I ran the support tool, and here are the results. I would really appreciate instructions for a fix, and also any advice that might keep this from happening again. Thank you!

    You have 2 active prefs.prop files.

    Please run this script to fix it. It creates backup copies of both prefs.prop files, and moves the Steam prefs.prop to the savegame folder.

    Hmm. Strange. Episode 3 worked fine but episode 4 doesn't work. A black screen appears without any of the rewind message or option. I looked on another thread and deleted the synch folder but it still doesn't work. I also noticed that even though I delete the folder, another one gets created in its place. There are no files in any of the subfolders as well. Anyone have any suggestions.
