So how do bounties work?

Well since the game is not out on Steam for another 3 hours I was wondering but what are bounty items? I was watching the intro in YouTube and Winslow asks Sam for a bounty challenge then Sam bet his banjo. Is is a secret unlockable for another game? Just an in game unlockable?

    It represents the unlockable DLC for the other games + console/Steam. From what I can tell its basically like the TF2 items from the last game but you just have to win the tournament, not just beat the playing who gambled the bounty. That's what it seemed like to me, at least.

    If Sam bets his bounty item and you win it, you get the Sam & Max themed unlockables for the platform you're playing on. (So if you were playing on Steam you'd win Sam's hat in TF2, and the Max mask in Borderlands 2).
