Because we decided five episodes would work better, for the story we were trying to tell and for the sanity of the development team. By the end of Season One, six episodes just felt too long.

The latest one certainly felt longer! And I mean that in a good way.

If they aren't all actually longer, I think that the season two episodes are filled with more... stuff... than season one episodes.

If I recall correctly, last year we had four nice and long episodes, and two shorter episodes.

    Everyone complained.

This year (assuming 205 is no shorter than the previous four episodes) we've got five nice and long episodes.

Cause and effect at work in my opinion.

Personally I'm happier with the change; it seems the longer the episode the larger Telltale's surprise twisted plot twist becomes ^_^

i didn't understand why they only put 5 episodes in Season 2 but now i kinda do
if you didn't win 204 then you'll know
that Sam & Max go through the portal
and it ended in a cliff hanger, which leads to the finale of Season 2
    for that reason
