Fairly odd glitch

Hey, so I've run into a rather weird one; my original walking dead save was not letting me continue to the next episode (ep 4 from ep 3), and so I deleted it, and decided to start a new one. I got through ep1 without any trouble, but upon starting ep2 it asked me to rewind. I decided to press yes, and it took me the last scene of episode 2. Thinking this would save me time, I went with it, only to have the same thing happen to me with episode 3, then running into the same problem, with episode 4 displayed as 'coming soon', despite having installed it already. Any help?

The problem is, that there are multiple prefs.prop files, but since you continued playing i can't say which one is the correct one, or if the savegame will be consistent after (re)moving them.

Please try renaming the prefs.prop in
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\default
    and
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\WalkingDead103
    to prefs.prop.bak to deactivate them.

All right, so the game in the first slot is now the new one, instead of the old one (which is fine, I'll just continuing playing that through) and the second slot has the original save in an earlier part of episode 3. Unfortunately, I can't change the prefs.prop files back from the .bak extension... any way of doing that?

    These instructions should help.
