Saved choices not recognized‏ in upcoming episodes

Hi there
I am having some troubles in the saved choices from an episode to another, when I started playing the game I got to episode 3 and then I couldn't pass on to episode for because of a black screen problem and so I quitted playing because didnt resolve that issue, then lately I tried to give it another shoot and started from scratch but when I started episode #2 I saw that all my choices from the first part were all changed in the second episode, one example is I didnt save "Doug" I saved "Carlie" and then in the second episode, in the intro, it shows that "Carlie" died and "Doug" is alive... I followed the sugestions in the foruns thread http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44150, and I dowloaded the support tool, so I am sending the results of the application with the purpose of you guys helping me solve this issue
Thank you and hope to hear from you guys soon

Please try renaming the prefs.prop in
    C:\Users\Propriet*rio\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead
    to prefs.prop.bak to deactivate it.

    Then move the prefs.prop from
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Walking Dead\Pack\default
    to
    C:\Users\Propriet*rio\Documents\Telltale Games\The Walking Dead

    Hi again
Unfortunately Doug is still alive, I followed every step, and the major changes were in the Menu, every graphic aspect was turned in to high and it seemed like I was starting a new game but then automatically the game started where I left it, but still with the wrong choices. What can I do to try to fix this problem.
I did everything you asked in the order you asked, so I think it is not human error, but we never know it may be my fault.
Thank you for the fast reply, and hope to hear from you soon.

Ps: I am going to upload again the game specifications, but now, supposedly, with the changes you suggested so you can check the differences made.

You did everything right. I decided to try the most recent prefs.prop first.
The other one is from April.
    01-07-2013 12:41 26.095 prefs.prop
    16-04-2013 11:51 35.928 prefs.prop.bak

I just noticed that your last savegame is from 02-02-2013, so it might be worth trying the other prefs.prop.

Please exchange them by first renaming prefs.prop to prefs.prop.orig, and then renaming prefs.prop.bak to prefs.prop.

I tried to do as you said but I got a bit confused with the .orig and .bak, but in the end your instructions fixed the problem, the only thing is that I did restart from scratch, but no problem I was only in episode 2.
Now I am facing a different problem, when I was reaching the begining of episode 5 I stopped for a few days and when I restarted the game, it showed the following message right before the menu appears "walkingdead101.exe not working" and the game stop's for no reason, the only things that I did was clean the pc with the "ccleaner", and scan for any issues with the antivirus.
Sorry for not replying very soon, I wanted so see if I could finish the game without any other problems before I replied to say that everything was ok.
Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.

Ps:I am going to upload again the game specifications

Did you run ccleaner on the registry too?
It seems so, since the support tool can't read the registry key of the install location anymore.

I suggest you make a backup copy of your savegames, and then uninstall and reinstall the game.

It could be something in the savegame folder. Please rename the savegame folder to deactivate it, and try if it still crashes.

It still crashes even with the renamed saved folder, I noticed that even after renaming the folder and putting it in a pen (so the computer wouldn't acess the files) the game still creates a identical backup of saved games folder... even if the folder doesn't exists in the pc
    What can I do next?

D'oh, i forgot about the steam cloud, which recovers the savegames.

Please disable steam cloud for TWD (In Steam, right click TWD and select "properties". Open the tab "updates" and remove the checkbox from "Enable Steam cloud synchronization for TWD").

Then try renaming the savegame folder again.

Please check the properties of the Steam.exe, your Steam icons, and the games .exe files, and disable any compatibility mode settings.
Sometimes compatibility mode is checked, but is grayed out. Then you have to click on "Change settings for all users" at the bottom to disable the checkbox.
Afterwards try if the game works.
