400 Days: has stopped working

I was so excited when I found out about the dlc, so I bought it right away when it was available on Steam.
Sadly, when I tried to launch it after it finished downloading, I get a black screen for 1/2 seconds before it says "thewalkingdead101.exe has stopped working". Season 1 worked perfectly, so I'm a bit bummed that this happened with the DLC. I tried compatibility modes, running as administator, going offline on Steam and the steam_appid.txt. Nothing worked.
I would really appreciate some help. :)

    Please make sure you restart Steam after installing the new content. Since you've already tried to play 400 Days, please remove the episode's game content, restart Steam, then reinstall 400 Days and try again.

    This is probably a very dumb question, but which files are the ones that belong to 400 days?

    It looks like the only option is to delete local content for the whole game and then reinstall. My mistake, I apologize for the confusion.

    Before doing this you can also try repairing your Steam Client by navigating to 'Control Panel', then Programs, then Programs and Features. Once the list has populated find Steam and then select 'Repair'.

    I did everything you suggested (I deleted the local content, reinstalled it, verified the game cache just in case, restarted my computer and Steam) but it still keeps giving me the error. (Although I do have to add, it took half a second longer to appear.) Is there anything else I could try or should I just try downloading it to another pc and see if it'll work on there?

    I can look into that a bit deeper.

    Please check if the game crash creates an entry in the
    event viewer in the "Windows Logs/Application" section.
    If so, right click the entry, select "copy the details as text", and paste them in a new reply.

    They are all not explicitly caused by the game. Did they show up exactly when the game crashes?

    They are all graphics related though, which might make sense.
    Some more information would be helpful. Please follow the instructions to run the Support Tool and attach the resulting "support_data_pc.zip" to your next reply in this thread.

    Your graphics driver is really old. Please install the latest graphics driver, and try if it works.

    I'm afraid the only thing that changed after installation and restarting the computer is that it takes a lot longer for the error message to show up.

    I think we should rule out next, if it's savegame related.
    Please rename the savegame folder "The Walking Dead" in
    C:\Users\Lana\Documents\Telltale Games\
    to "The Walking Dead off"

    and try if it works.

    Well, the good thing is that the error doesn't show up anymore, but neither does the game. Steam does say it's already running if I try to start the game shortly after my first attempt, but nothing happens.

    Have you tried restarting your computer?

    I improved the support tool to automatically include TWD related crash events.
    Please run it again.

    The events look promising.

    Please check the properties of the Steam.exe, your Steam icons, and the games .exe files, and disable any compatibility mode settings.
    Sometimes compatibility mode is checked, but is grayed out. Then you have to click on "Change settings for all users" at the bottom to disable the checkbox.
    Afterwards try if the game works.
