Save games not recognized after crash.

I purchased the Steam version (didn't know I was getting it for free - Ooops!). Played through three of the stories before a big crash caused me to do a hard reboot. Once I reloaded the game, the save games were gone from the game ----but not from my directory.

I downloaded the new episode from TTG and it doesn't recognize my save games either.

The crash has corrupted your prefs.prop, which is needed to access the .save files.

You can try the "restore previous version" feature (right click, "properties", "restore previous version") on the prefs.prop in the savegame folder

Well, it restored. Now, when I load the game it freezes on the menu screen with no menu. After a while I shut it down and get the "walkingdead.exe is not responding" error.

Do you have different versions from different dates you could restore to?

Not sure what you mean. There are multiple save files - each one from the 3 different saves. Gonna try to uninstall and then redownload. Maybe make a backup of my files and then start fresh.

While using the "restore previous version" feature you can usually chose between different versions from different dates. Trying other versions might work.

Oh, no. There was only one previous.

If you .zip and upload your prefs.prop and *.save files i can take a look at them.
Please upload it as a single .zip file to an instant filehoster and post the download link.

The saves look good. There's a finished episode 5 in slot one, and episode 2 and episode one in the other slots.
Your 400 days progress is lost, by restoring the prefs.prop, but that's better than nothing.

Will give it a shot once I get back home. I don't mind playing through the episode again.

Well reinstalled because I couldn't get past the loading screen, and now it says I don't have a license for the game. The game just sits there, taunting me.

I've played through season 1 more than once! What's up?

I've also had the no license issue showing up sometimes, but it went away after a while by itself. I don't know what causes it though. Unless you had a typo in your account data of course.
