same here I have the retail walking dead pc too, then I just bought the 400 days from gamefly , but need steam to download it, when you add the game to steam it wont let you use the 400 days security key, you need steams bought/downloaded walking dead.
at support@telltalegames.com they have a form to download, which will be a pain!
you will need to email them for a unique walking dead code, to write on the booklet's last page, along with the game case, dvd, and booklet show'g your unique code written on it's last page, take a picture of all that, and a copy of store receipt where you bought it, fill out the form, replying back with all that to their email they sent to you with the unique code, so they can send you the the security keys to redownload all 5 of season1 from steam, then you can download 400 days and finally play it, the sad news is that won't be on the 4th of july, (today), for your unique code because they are closed on holidays, isn't that the craziest thing, happy 4th to us all.

    Are you serious?

Whenever I played TWD it would 'connect' so that I would assume that Telltale recognizes me as a legitimate user.

Whenever I played TWD I would always 'connect.' How else would they be able to collect my stats and for that matter I should be recognized as a legitimate user.

I did get the form to fill out on the 3rd but i'm waiting for the unique code so I can take a picture to send in for the steam keys.
here is the email they sent me and how to get the form:
We are aware that customers who’ve purchased the PC retail disc version of The Walking Dead will not have access to ‘400 Days’, the Special Episode DLC released for Season 1. At this time, we are offering all PC retail disc customers Steam codes to download the first season (Episode 1-5) of The Walking Dead, so that they can then acquire ‘400 Days’. You can find the PC retail disc Code Redemption Form here (http://cdn.telltalegames.com/files/walkingdead/claim/TWDCodeRedemptionForm-PC.docx) Please read through this document in its entirety and follow all instructions to claim your Steam codes.

So for those (like me) who didn't keep the original receipt (I didn't hang on to it since the game worked fine) are basically screwed. Ridiculous.

Why do we need the receipt since we can easily photograph all of the pics required?

Yeah, what about those with no receipt? I got my retail copy as a christmas gift, and therefore never had a receipt, and don't even know what store it was purchased from.

Also, if we have to download the steam version to get the new dlc, will we be able to transfer our save games from ep. 1-5?
