TWD - Can't play offline

I can't play The Walking Dead offline - if I try to do so, I have an error message saying that I do not own the game on my TTG account.

I found this fix:

But I did not try it, since it was not officially approved. Can't manually moving the folder induce bugs? Is there another way around this bug?
