Some tips for 400 Days issues (Unofficial)
There is a new episode available and some people are having download issues again, so I'm back
Please Note: This is not an official support document or anything like that, I'm just a user like you, I can't take responsibility for any issue that might occur as a result of using the following guides, so I suggest you to contact TellTale Games official support before trying my solutions.
Here are some of the most common issues about this latest episode:
1) How can I preserve my previous save files?
Use software such as PhoneView or iExplorer(Free Shareware version available for both Win & Mac) to browse Apps installed on your iOS Device. Find The Walking Dead app and go to Documents folder and backup prefs.pop and all the .save files to your PC/Mac. Therefore your save files are safe even when you decide to uninstall and reinstall the game.
If you have previously finished the game, uninstalled it and did not backup your save files, it is possible that you have lost your save files but it would not hurt to try these:
- If iCloud backup was enabled on your device, reinstalling the game may bring your save files back, I do not use iCloud backup therefore I can't test it myself.
- There are applications such as iBackupBot that allow you to browse local backups of your iOS device made by iTunes. Your save files might be in one of your previous backups (look for com.telltalegames.walkingdead).

2) 400 Days is not in the Episode list!
If you have updated the Walking Dead game from App Store and it still happens, backup your save files then try this:
- Close The Walking Dead game (Double tap the Home button to make sure it is not running in the background).
- Use software such as PhoneView or iExplorer(Free Shareware version available for both Win & Mac) to browse Apps installed on your iOS Device.
- Find the Walking Dead app (PhoneView requires you to enable "Show All Apps").
- Go to Documents>SyncFS.
- Look inside the Temp folder, if there are files in it, delete those files from your iOS device.
- Look inside the Meta folder. Make a backup copy of .json files inside it then delete delete them from your iOS device.
- Look inside the Data folder. This folder includes some big files, make a backup of them if you don't want to redownload everything, then delete contents of the Data Folder from your iOS device.
(DO NOT delete Temp,Meta & Data Folders, delete files and folders inside them).
- Optional: Use a reliable proxy or VPN service on your iOS device, preferably located in U.S.
- Reopen the Walking Dead Game, wait a few minutes while it is downloading the patch files for the first episode and hopefully also updates its episodes list.
- If you are lucky enough, 400 Days would be listed for purchase.
3) 400 Days is in the list, but it says coming soon!
Try the steps mentioned for the previous issue.
4) 400 Days in the list says coming soon, but I have the option to buy the previous episodes+400 Days at once.
If you have previously purchased the first 5 episodes, you do not have to buy them again!
Even if you buy them again, you will probably still see the 400 Days listed as Coming Soon. Therefore I recommend you to try the steps for the second issue listed in this thread.
5) I did everything as you said, but it still does not show 400 Days or says coming soon!
Unfortunately, based on your internet connection quality and stability of telltale games servers, you may have to retry those steps several times.
One of the ways to make sure telltale games servers are not having major issues is to check this forum, if it opens fine for you, telltale servers are probably functioning normally. If you get Database errors, it is a strong hint that telltale servers are having issues and you should try later.
To Telltale Games staff: I have deliberately not mentioned any solution for manual download of episode files to prevent any possible misuse of my guide for piracy, therefore I hope this thread can remain available.
